They began correspondence with the town of Gross-Bieberau, Germany, and later a delegation from Gross-Bieberau visited Millstadt. On October 2, 2000, the two cities officially established a sister city relationship. Since then, the relationship has developed further and regular visits have been scheduled. The last formal sister city exchange took place in Gross-Bieberau in April 2018. The next visit is expected to take place in 2020.
